Soaring Eagle Stage 9:45PM

This was the moment we had been waiting for all summer.  The final time slot on Friday night at our favorite Arts Beats and Eats stage.  The Candy Band rocked out and finished up their set at 9:15.  Storms had been appearing on Radar all night long but really didn't look like they would threten our performance.  Scott's son Calvin even got to read the commercial credits in between  bands!  How Cool!  But just as the Candy Band was finishing their set, the storms took a right turn at Lapeer and headed south FAST.  By 9:30, it was thunder and lightning.  By 9:35 the first rain started falling and Roger the stage manager told everyone to take cover (inside Gusoline Alley!!).  2 1/2 inches of rain fell in the next hour, followed by a couple hours more! By 10PM, the show was cancelled.  It was a shame because there were SO MANY people we knew there and all they did was get wet.  Thanks everyone for coming out and hopefully we get the same stage and slot for next year.
